Danielle Mastrion is an NYC-based Artist: a painter, muralist, and street artist. Born & raised in Brooklyn, New York, Danielle gained a B.F.A in Illustration at Parsons School of Design.
Danielle has painted walls all around NYC, the US and abroad. Her murals in NYC include the Beastie Boys tribute on Ludlow & Rivington Street in the LES; the mural was featured in Mass Appeal, Rolling Stone, Spin Magazine & Billboard Magazine. She has painted a series of commemorative murals for The Yankees at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx along with Lexi Bella. Her other mural work in NYC can be found at The Bushwick Collective, Welling Court Mural Project in Astoria Queens; Centrefuge Public Art Project, the Myrtle-Broadway intersection wall, Dodworth Street Mural Project; and was on the historic 5POINTZ building. Her walls can also be found in Los Angeles, Miami, Newark NJ, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico for the A.S.A.P Mural Project in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Danielle’s murals can be found internationally in Cuba, Mexico, Belize, Berlin, Israel, England, & Paris. In 2012 Danielle & Lexi Bella were featured at UpFest: The International Painting Festival in Bristol, England. For the last three years, Danielle has painted in Miami’s Art Basel festival. She is currently working on the Audubon Mural Project in Harlem NYC.
Danielle works with several community-based organizations & has led after school & weekend art workshops for students as well as fundraisers with Walk Of Art NYC & Urban Art Beat. Her community-driven murals have been with 501 See Streets, The Flatbush-Nostrand BID, The Newark Allery project in Newark NJ & the Newark Ironbound Community Center. She is a member of H.A.R.T, the Harlem Art Collective & has painted several community gardens & murals in East Harlem, NYC. She was asked to paint in several schools, including the 5Pointz Creates project at August Martin High School in Queens; and Seward Park High School (New Design High School) in the Lower East Side.
Danielle’s formal art training is as an oil painter and acrylic painter; she works on both public and private commissions with her canvas work. Danielle had two solo exhibitions in 2014; one as the November Artist-In-Residence at Bucketfeet Gallery in SoHo; a solo show at Low Brow Artique in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Her work has shown at several NYC galleries including 5Pointz Creates, Succulent Studios, Exit Room Gallery, Low Brow BK and Outlaw Arts Gallery. This year, she had an installation at Bushwhick Open Studios, was part of Outlaw Arts’ 21st Precinct Exhibition, and Surplus Candy. She also works as a live painter, and has painted live with The Art Battles since 2007. She was Art Battles’ NYC Champion in 2012, and has traveled to Paris, Berlin & Poland with Art Battles. She has also been a featured painter at Collage NYC; one of NYC’s longest running live painting weekly events.
