Anna Lunoe | MUSIC

“I’m your high-heeled killer, I’m your midnight thriller, I’m your bass drum dealer – and I always deliver.”

Those words come from the title track of Anna Lunoe’s bold 2014 release Bass Drum Dealer (B.D.D.), and they pretty much define her as an artist: a tough contender in the boy’s club of international DJs, demanding to be noticed for her musical innovation, pure performance power and seemingly endless energy.

Hailing from Australia, Anna Lunoe is equal parts DJ, vocalist, songwriter and producer, she’s been a radio show host as a DJ, she is as an underground club killer with the unique ability to conquer the biggest of festival stages, whilst consistently delivering up genre bending productions that transcend EDM clichés, laced with her distinct, crystalline vocals.

How Lunoe catapulted from being virtually unknown in the US, to performances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra, TomorrowWorld & Hard Fest in a few sweaty and sleepless years is a testament to the phrase ‘cream always rises to the top’. Arriving in Los Angeles from Sydney in 2012, just as her Anna Lunoe & Friends EP dropped, it didn’t take long before she was invited to play shows with the likes of Disclosure, Diplo, Duke Dumont, Clockwork, and TEED. The Future Classic EP made a splash –the effervescent house collaboration with Touch Sensitive, ‘Real Talk’ hit #1 on the Beatport Indie Dance Chart and stayed there… for four months. The B-side track was I Met You, a slow jam fantasy made with a then-unknown producer named Flume. Two million hits on YouTube later I Met You introduced Anna as a unique new voice in dance music.

Next came the forward thinking bass house bomb Breathe released on Fools Gold/Ultra and extensive touring in USA and Australia, including the two month Fall Tour throughout North America with The Weeknd and Banks. Follow that look with an undeniable club weapon Bass Drum Dealer, picked up by Skrillex for his Nest imprint, it became & remains the label’s biggest release. No slowing down, Zane Lowe premiered her collaboration with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs on BBC Radio 1, a warehouse techno treat called Feels Like that picked up plenty of UK specialist radio support. Summer saw the All Out EP debut Top 5 on the iTunes Dance Chart. An all killer no filler four-track that saw Anna flex her writing and vocal style and an ability to inspire attention from a broader audience. In between all of that, she dominated an impressive festival run with Coachella, Lollapalooza, Hard Day Of the Dead, Splash House and Electric Forest, headlined her own US club tour and finished off the year in Europe playing to few thousand people with another breakout star from 2014, Kygo.

Kicking off 2015 she blazed around the country on a sold out Ship2Ship club tour, partied her way to the Bahamas on Holy Ship, played dates with Gorgon City and teamed up with Sleepy Tom on the reactive ‘Pusher’ single.

Garnering critical acclaim and major press in the likes of Fader, Complex, Billboard, Vogue, Nylon, Interview, LA Weekly, and most of the dance & electronic press, Anna has become a resolute mainstay.

Don’t miss her this summer at a slew of festivals, including touring with Jack Ü (Skrillex & Diplo) on the Full Flex Express Train Tour, Hard Summer, Splash House & more.
