What initially inspired you to become a musician?

I wouldn’t say there was one specific event that inspired me to become a musician. I have been inspired from many things. My love for music has always been with me

How does music affect you and the world around you?
Music helps me through everything and I would say it brings people closer together. It makes me happy and sometime helps me understand situations better.

Are there certain bands/artists that have influenced your sound?
I look up to a lot of musicians. But I have always told myself I don’t want to be “the next Ariana Grande” or “the next Selena Gomez” (even though I look up to both those artists a lot). I want to be the first Shayla Souliere and be my own artist.

Where is one place you’d like to play a live set that you haven’t already?
I would love to play Madison Square Garden.

Tell us about the inspiration behind “Over” and your newest single “Screw U”.
I wrote this song thinking that I am a strong individual and I am over getting over situations that somehow keep making their way back to me.

What guilty pleasure songs would we have found on your MP3 player in high school?
Oooooo… I would say lots of Nicki Minaj, lots of Usher, and like many…. Justin Bieber!

What’s next for you? Tour plans hopefully!
New music, new covers, and I hope some shows down the road.

What advice do you have for aspiring female artists?
Follow your dreams and don’t turn back! Be the best you.

What’s your interpretation of a Raw Femme?
Raw Femme features a ton of extremely talented individuals and I am so honored that you picked me to chat about my single and what’s to come!
