Meet Nashville-based alt rock duo Icon for Hire!
Fronted by the beautiful Ariel and guitarist Shawn Jump, whose music combines alternative rock with electronic and hip-hop elements and presents a truly unique sound in the 21st century musical landscape. Throw in one badass female vocalist and crunchy guitars chords and you’ll be HOOKED.
The band self-released their new album You Can’t Kill Us on November 25th, and spent the fall headlining a full US tour in support. Would love to set up an album review – you can check out the band’s latest singles on idobi Radio and PureVolume, and the full album, which premiered on Pandora, here.
Icon for Hire’s last album, 2013’s self-titled Icon for Hire, reached #66 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart. In 2015, Icon for Hire gained independence from their label and earlier this year they launched a Kickstarter campaign in support of their new album You Can’t Kill Us. The campaign went on to become the highest funded music campaign of 2016 to date, raising $127,000 of an initial $2,016 goal.
Ariel is not only a musical goddess, but one of the coolest fashion designers I’ve ever come across. I feel as though she’s my long lost soulmate with her incorporation of black, hot pink, and grunge. You can check out her entire collection for Custom Catastrophes here. Support this rad babe in all her punk glory!
