Meet Fiona Grey, the musical genius behind brand new single, “MONEY”! The track is super cinematic with organic strings, but it also has a rock ’n’ roll edge, setting it apart from Fiona’s poppier past material, which includes her acclaimed single, “What You Want”. Fiona has proven that she is not afraid to take risks by staying true to herself. She has created a sound all her own with lyrics that convey real meaning and purpose.
“MONEY” will be featured on Fiona’s forthcoming EP due out later this year. The song, which was inspired by the Kardashian hierarchy and our religious infatuation with pop culture, was produced/mixed by Mike Schuppan, accomplished recording engineer of M83, Paramore, Jimmy Eat World, Dream Theater, Ziggy Marley and more. Ones To Watch premiered the track this week and said, “Grey’s latest is…a raw and open warning of the downfalls associated with current media and pop culture.”
With a background in musical theater performance, and influences including David Bowie, Debbie Harry and Missing Persons, Fiona pushes the boundaries of traditional pop music through her edgy songs and energetic live performances. Dubbed a “very worthy young pop talent” by Popmatters, Fiona has performed at notable LA venues such as Troubadour and Resident, and shared the bill with popular acts including Charli XCX and Foals. Today, she is gearing up to release her cinematic new EP, which will follow up her previous collections, Striped Heart EP and Belladonna EP, which included her single, “Beauty Queen” — a “heartfelt lowrider that woos its way into your teen dream heart like a rebellious cross between Lorde and Christina Aguilera, with melodic shades of INOJ’s ‘Love You Down’”, according to Neon Gold Records.
