Hull’s music scene just got louder with the arrival of WENCH!—a fierce, feminist punk trio fueled by unapologetic rage and raw emotion. With their explosive gigs and powerful presence at local festivals, they’re shaking up the scene and making noise for anyone who’s ever felt silenced.

Their debut single, Shreds, rips through the pain of being wronged in a relationship, capturing the emotional turmoil of vulnerability and betrayal. Produced at Hull’s Warren Records by Adam Pattrick, Shreds is a battle cry for courage and a refusal to be broken by toxic, abusive encounters.

“We wrote Shreds for anyone intimidated into silence,” the band shares. “Our music is raw, unfiltered, and unapologetically honest. It’s about speaking from the heart, even when it’s messy, even when it backfires.”

WENCH! is Kit Bligh (Vocals, Drums), Hebe Gabel (Bass, Flute), and Sev Speck (Guitar, Backing Vocals)—a powerhouse blending Riot Grrrl punk with alternative rock and pop. They’re not just a band; they’re a movement, creating safe spaces, calling out misogyny, and standing in defiance of a world that tries to quiet them.

Inspired by artists like Patti Smith and Lambrini Girls, this trio fuses their diverse musical backgrounds—folk, blues, jazz, soul—into a sound that’s rebellious and unapologetic. WENCH! makes music for the mistreated, the misfits, and the powerful women who refuse to be held down by the patriarchy.
