‘Bridge’ a Short Film by Filmmaker Bonnie Moir

Bonnie Moir is a Melbourne-based filmmaker with an eclectic breadth of experience across short and long form film, television and commercials.

Her short film BRIDGE premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival 2017 and was programmed as an official selection at international festivals that include Maryland Film Festival, Hollyshorts and the Melbourne Queer Film Festival among others. The film follows Dan, a closeted homosexual, who goes to a cruising area under a bridge to confront his darkest secret. It isn’t until he meets a younger and more confident Paul that he realizes his biggest fear is just the beginning of something much closer to home.

For the past four years Bonnie has assisted and been mentored by celebrated Australian director, Garth Davis.

She was involved in Davis’ Oscar-nominated feature film debut LION (2016) and his sophomore feature MARY MAGDALENE (2018) starring Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix, as his Director’s Assistant. Most recently she was an attachment on the upcoming BBC series THE CRY (2018) under award-winning Australian director Glendyn Ivin.

Bonnie’s films are marked by grounded human moments brought to life by her grasp of compelling performances and her flair for sensitive storytelling. She is driven by a desire to tell engrossing and diverse stories.

In 2018 she completed her second short film BIRD. Check out her work and support!
