Crapshoot Comedy Festival “Nasty Women”
Dave Attell, Bert Kreischer and Tig Notaro headline the inaugural
Crapshoot Comedy Festival – May 18-20, 2017 in Downtown Las Vegas
27 comedians gather for the largest comedy event ever produced in Downtown Las Vegas.
The 2017 Crapshoot Comedy Festival is the largest gathering of nationally recognized comedians ever assembled in Downtown Las Vegas. The three-night event features 27 comics performing in 32 shows across six different venues throughout the East Fremont Entertainment District.
This unprecedented event kicks off with Thursday’s headlining performance of legendary club comic Dave Attell (Insomniac with Dave Attell, Trainwreck) at Zappos Chambers on the Zappos.com campus. For Friday’s headlining event, Bert Kreischer (Travel Channel’s Trip Flip, Bert the Conqueror) brings The Machine 2017 Tour to the Fremont Country Club. The final evening of the festival features Tig Notaro (One Mississippi, Transparent) headlining two Saturday evening performances of Nasty Women, an all-female comedy showcase benefitting the ACLU of Nevada.
“The whole purpose of Crapshoot is to celebrate stand-up comedy in the place where it flourished in the last century,” says Co-Founder and Executive Producer Paul Chamberlain “We’re bringing in several comedians who have never performed in Las Vegas and are truly excited to be in front of fans that would otherwise have to travel to L.A. or New York to see them.”
The slate of comics confirmed for Crapshoot boasts over 20 million combined social-media followers, plus dozens of appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show, The Daily Show, Conan, Comedy Central, Netflix and various TV shows and films.
The local comedy scene will also be featured in a showcase hosted by Chris Porter, featuring five comics who call Las Vegas home: Jozalyn Sharp, Bobby Wayne Stauts, AK McMorris, Matt Markman and Brandon “Gooch” Hahn.
Headliner ticket prices range from $30-$49, and all showcase performances are $20. Three types of three-day passes are available with ascending levels of access and perks: the Ace pass ($149), the VIP pass ($299), and the elite level, all-access Whale pass ($999).
Support for the Crapshoot Comedy Festival comes from the official title sponsor, Zappos.com and accommodation partner and de facto epicenter of the festival, the El Cortez Hotel and Casino. Also, Pandora Media has created The Crapshoot Comedy “mixtape”: a station consisting of the comics slated to perform at Crapshoot. It’s the first time the streaming radio platform has ever hosted a station dedicated to a comedy festival. It can be found at www.pandora.com/crapshootcomedy
