IRISHLATINA by Rebecca Rivera

When IRISHLATINA hits a creative block, an unexpected inspiration comes to life, and we can’t get enough of this amazing lookbook by fashion brilliance, Rebecca Rivera

Born in Pasadena, California.  The eldest of 5 children, she and her siblings were raised with an appreciation for the arts including dance, music, theatre, film and fashion.  Rivera grew up performing. She appeared in over 25 musical theatre productions between age 12 and 18.

After high school, Rivera attended California State University, Fullerton and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts with an emphasis on Costume Design.  She designed costumes and makeup for several productions at the University, as well as the original theatrical production “Blasting Holes in the Night” at California State University Northridge.

While studying Costume Design, Rivera was simultaneously attending Fullerton College where she studied Fashion Design and Photography.  In 2005, Rivera left for Florence, Italy where she studied art history and the Italian language.

After returning to Southern California, Rivera was awarded a scholarship by the American Sewing Guild’s Orange County Chapter, and won 1st place for purse design at the California Community College Fashion Symposium in Downtown Los Angeles. She worked as both a runway and print model while living in Los Angeles.

In 2008, Rivera moved to New York City where she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and earned an AAS degree in Fashion Design.
